Ellie Montemayor

Student Advisor

Ellie Montemayor is a physics and computational cognition major in her third year at MIT, as part of the Class of 2026. Her academic and professional interests vary wildly from musical acoustics and psychophysics to narrative journalism and trauma psychology. Community service is a big part of her life, having served in MIT’s student newspaper, The Tech, as well as various other service organizations on-campus such as PLEASURE and the Peer Educators Program. In joining realtalk@MIT, Ellie hopes to have more authentic conversations about the problems students face in and out of campus, and to hopefully enact lasting change on-campus through the work the realtalk team does in sharing and uplifting community voices. Ellie grew up in a low-income household in the heart of the Philippines and moved to the U.S. in search for a better life with her family, finally finding a home here in Boston over the course of her college journey.
